House Rules
HOURS OF SERVICE The various facilities of the club shall be open for use by members and their guests at such times and under such conditions and regulations as shall be periodically determined and regularly published by the Board of Governors. The club shall be closed on Monday of each week, except when a national holiday is observed on that day of the week. PRIVATE PARTIES Members desiring to make use of the club facilities for private entertainment must obtain approval from the General Manager. Requests which require closing the club must also have the approval of the Board of Governors. A. Use of the club facilities is intended primarily for the personal entertainment of members. Personal entertainment shall mean entertainment solely by and at the sole expense of the member or members. B. Club facilities may be made available for use by clubs and other organizations. Such usage shall be sponsored by a member or members and shall be approve by the General Manager. RESPONSIBILITY FOR GUESTS Members are responsible for the conduct and behavior of their guests while in the clubhouse or on the premises and for any debt, liability or loss incurred by them to the club. VIOLATIONS OF RULES - COURTESY The General Manager is required to call to the attention of members any guests in violation of club rules or misconduct. Continued violation of any club rules of etiquette and courtesy must be reported by the General manager to the Board of Governors. CHILDREN Parents shall be responsible for and supervise the conduct of their children while on the club premises. Romping or boisterous playing by children while on the club property will not be permitted. COMPLAINTS-SUGGESTIONS Members may not reprimand any employee of the club. In case of discourtesy or lack of service, complaints should be made to the General Manager or the House Committee chairman in writing or in person. All suggestions or constructive criticism should also be in writing or in person.
CLUB PROPERTY Property of the club must not be taken from the premises. Clubhouse furnishings or equipment are not to be removed from the premises unless approved by the Board of Governors. DOGS No dogs shall be permitted in the clubhouse or at the pool at any time and must be on leash if brought on the club grounds. DRESS Members and their guests at the club are expected to dress in good taste at all times. Casual, golf or tennis shorts of a reasonable length (short shorts are prohibited) and blue jeans may be worn in the locker rooms, Pro Shop, Elmwood Bar and Boxwood Grille Dining Room. FOOD No food can be consumed on the premises unless purchased from the club. GRATUTIES/SERVICE CHARGES All Food and Beverage charges are subject to an 18% Service charge and 5% State sales tax and 4% meal tax. LEGAL AGE The Club bartenders are instructed not to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone under twenty-one (21) years of age. The club adheres to all Virginia State Alcoholic Beverage Common Rules and Regulations. LIABILITY The club will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal property of members or guests anytime, anywhere. LOCKERS Applications for locker room lockers shall be made at the business office. Rental for lockers is on an annual basis. NOTICES No notices other that those relating to Chatmoss Country Club business shall be posted on any club bulletin board without approval of the Board of Governors. Notices so posted shall not be defaced or removed. The General Manager or his designees shall have authority to enforce all rules concerning the use of the clubhouse and the club facilities. Appropriate action will be taken for violations of the rules. PARKING Parking is available for the convenience of the members and their guests. Members and their guests shall park their cars in the parking areas provided in a proper manner within the spaces marked on the pavement so as not to block the entrance and exit lanes. SMOKING Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the clubhouse except men and women's locker rooms, men's card room, Virginia Room and Elmwood Bar. DINING POLICIES 1. The restaurant serves lunch from 12:00-2:30PM. Tuesday through Saturday. Dinner is served from 5:30PM-9: 00PM Tuesday through Thursday and 5:30PM-9:30PM Friday and Saturday. The Clubhouse is closed for all food and beverage service after brunch on Sunday. These hours are subject to be changed seasonally by the General Manager and the House Committee. The restaurant and clubhouse are both closed on Monday. 2. All food and beverage arrangements for private functions shall be arranged with the General Manager or the Food & Beverage Director. REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS DESIRING TO MAKE USE OF THE CLUB FACILITIES FOR PRIVATE ENTERTAINMENT
A. Members should make arrangements through the club manager for all parties. B. All charges shall be signed by a member. An 18% Service/Gratuity charge and 5% Virginia Sales tax and 4% Meals Tax. will be added to all Food and Beverage checks. SPECIAL FUNCTIONS Special parties, dances, buffets, suppers, etc. will be arranged from time to time. MEN'S CARD ROOM The use of the Men's Card Room will be controlled by the General Manager or the Card Room Attendant. Purchase of food or drink in the card room will be on the honor system. All members must sign a ticket for merchandise. Anyone not conforming to the rule will be subject to Board action. Card playing will not be permitted in the dining areas of the Clubhouse with the exception of Bridge Clubs. |
